The UAE-Africa Mentoring and Development Consortium (UAMDC) envisions to become a global platform for the youth in the United Arab Emirates, Africa, Middle East and other parts of the world. This project was given birth through a speech that was recently posted by the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum: “We are building a new reality of our people, a new future for our children, and a new model of development.” And a speech by the First President of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah: “It is possible now to envisage the date when every child, without regards as to whether her parents are rich or poor, will be able to develop her talents to the fullest degree.”
MISSION: The Mission of this project is to advance the causes of youth integration through mentoring and development of innovative ideas of the UAE-African youth, direct collaboration and engagement of all universities in these two regions, achieve a long-term benefit of cultural dynamics and career trend regionally, bilaterally and globally.
VISION: UAE-AFRICA MENTORING AND DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM (UAMDC) shall provoke and motivate youth to aspire for greatness through mastering skills, emphasizing individual gifts and talents, and setting educational pursuits for all youth in UAE and Africa by 2035.
To allow for this vision to crystallise, the consortium has set five objectives: 1. Establish a start-up incubator throughout all campuses in Africa and UAE. 2. Strengthen existing educational & career development platforms in Africa and UAE universities. 3. Support the establishment of alumni networks in all Universities. 4. Create more partnerships for Africa and UAE universities, companies and governments. 5. Promote companies offering decent jobs for Africa-UAE youth.
