4.3. UAE-AFRICA MENTORING AND DEVELOPMENT CONSORTIUM Business Incubator SMEs
Model is a capacity building program. When the start-ups reach the two (2) years matured to SMEs level status,
UAMDC evaluates the best strategies to support them including with capacity building, business development
to attain next level success and equity finance support and vis-a-vis customized consulting programs offered by
UAMDC principals while inviting partners in the incubator mentee process to include both pre-selected top
local and global executive mentors (i.e. CEOs and other dignitaries). At every stage of the incubator program,
the mentees will be reporting their business results to the principal mentors in a “report-card” type fashion for
effective mentors’ evaluation of the mentees’ business goals achievements and next steps solutions counselling
such as in the following examples:
Fintech Firm: What is the best way to champion the SMEs and pair them with
identified principals in finance and accounting which can include support of the
same mentors’ organizations and or by key introductions by UAMDC and partners?
As such, they will be able to obtain experience and obtain funding for their cash-
flow as they will charge a certain amount for their services.
Software Firm: What is the best way to champion the SMEs and pair them with
principals in technical/software organizations? Creating exposure by developing a
great website, state-of-the-art app or other technical solutions for a fee.
